Extending Xynergi

I'm curious if there are any other users housing their Fairlight CPU in a Machine Room and extending connections into their Control Room. I have attempted to set this up in a couple of different ways and neither seem to be great. First I extended the VGA with a Gefen box and put the VGA to USB converter next to the CPU in the Machine Room. It worked but I was getting a lot of "noise" on the Xynergi screen. Next I kept the VGA to USB box inside the console and extended the USB. This looks awesome on the Xynergi screen but there is different problem, the Xynergi just doesn't seem to be as fast as I need it to be. I've played around with a stand-alone unit 2 feet from its' CPU and didn't notice the lag as much. I'm thinking extending might be the problem.

I use a machine room (cable run about 20 metres). I extend the usb with the extenders recommended by Fairlight & they work well most of the time. We discovered a strange earth problem due to no earth back to the pc via the usb extender (I was getting a 75 volt zap.....) which was resolved by an earth strap from the xynergi controller to tech earth. Screens are converted to vga at the pc & amplified also using extenders approved by fairlight. Screens are a bit soft but ok. The system seems to be at its' best when sitting next to the controller & screens, but I think it's too noisy (fans in the pc & sx48) to be a permanent fixture in my control room.
