Professional-grade mixing and editing systems now don’t
simply operate and sound better, they also look a class apart
from controller-type products. they also look a class apart from
controller-type products.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, October 28, 2004 —
Underscoring its leadership of the professional audio mixing and
editing marketplace, Fairlight today announced its new Constellation
XT large format mixing console will feature Organic LED (OLED)
technology that enables massive improvements in the resolution
and definition of its onboard displays. OLED displays allow more
information to be displayed on a screen, enabling operators to
quickly view more information without having to page through menus.
OLED technology comprises organic thin films
that, when placed between two conductors, can serve as a display.
OLED technology requires very little power and yet produces radiant,
self-luminous displays that do not require backlighting, resulting
in thin, very compact displays, allowing a greater number as well
as bigger displays in the same size console. The displays also
have a wide viewing angle - up to 160 degrees - making for a much
more efficient studio session as mixers will always be able to
read the display no matter how they move around.
“Working with our professional customer-base,
Fairlight has long understood and pioneered workflow efficiency
within the studio environment,” said Fairlight Sales &
Marketing Director, Stuart DeMarais. “Our decision to incorporate
OLED technology into our products and so introduce it to the professional
audio community provides professional mixers with a clearer, easier-to-read
display that will make their work in the studio faster and more
efficient. Now more than ever, the difference between professional-grade
mixing and editing systems and other controller-type products
is abundantly clear.”
